Making a Wooden Beaded Photo Frame

A personally made article is always more special than the regular machine made things. One can gift such items to their loved ones on special occasions to make them feel all the more special and loved. Since handmade photo frames make perfect gift items for the loved ones, here's a step by step procedure to create a wooden beaded picture frame beaded picture frame.

Material Needed

  • 4 regular craft sticks
  • 11 mini jumbo craft sticks
  • 2 mini craft sticks
  • 12 wooden beads, 1 inch each
  • 8 inches ribbon or string, 1/2-inch wide
  • Clear overhead transparency film or plastic
  • Craft glue
  • Scissors
  • Ruler

Step 1

First of all, in order to make the sides of thew frame, stick three beads with even spaces in between over a regular craft stick. Leave it for drying and then glue another stick over the beads. Repeat the same with three beads and two more craft stick. Make sure you let it enough nicely before proceeding.

Step 2

For making top and bottom of the frame, do it as in step 1 with mini jumbo craft sticks rather than the regular ones.

Step 3

Glue a long piece and a short piece of craft stick to form an L. The angles have to be square and the pieces, appropriately straight. Make sure that you hold them together till the glue sets.

Step 4

Repeat the same for the other end, making sure that the pieces do not detach while drying.

Step 5

Stick the other smaller piece over the longer one and let it dry.

Step 6

For making the back of the frame, glue two mini craft sticks over a set of five craft sticks laid together. Make sure the the mini sticks are stuck half an inch before the bottom and top.

Step 7

Once all the pieces are set dry, lace the back of the inner stick edges with a line of glue and fix the frame back (made in step 5) so as to cover the inner opening of the frame. Let the freshly fixed frame dry completely.

Step 8

Double up a piece of ribbon or string and glue the ends at the back. This would let the frame hang on the wall.

Step 9

Now cut your favorite picture as per the frame size and place it within the frame. You can also cut a transparent sheet of the same size to add it as a protective covering over the picture. The wooden beads picture frame is ready.
